Orcs have always been the one monster I've never really been interested in (its the tusks) but this is a great introduction to monster romance if you haven't read one before.
I definitely found Oviva and Fairlie's relationship had been developed more compared to the original version however for me it almost tipped the scales a little too far and outshone the connection with Osric. I also found the breeding/contraceptive conversation niggled me a bit more in this version; Osric was so sweet to begin with and although there isn't that much change from those scenes compared to the original novella it stuck out as there wasn't any kind of conflict on the same scale within Ovivia and Fairlie's relationship. I did enjoy the plotline with the ex being expanded though for some added drama and the epilogue was very cute too.
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
