Book: Hopeless Necromantic by Shiloh Briar

Okay everyone... I went to this book with wrong expectations... I expected a fun little romantasy... a normal necromancer falls in love with a demon. Pretty standard thing in my reading taste. What I did not expect was the personal growth of said necromancer. What I did not expect was the strong bond I created with a side character. What I did not expect was the humor that made me chuckle and made so many highlights through the book. What I did not expect was crying multiple times through this book because something felt so heavy. What I did not expect was that this book hurt my feelings... on multiple levels and that I will hope very much for book two...
So please don't go to this book expecting romance... it is there but it is such a small part of this book... not small... that is wrong... insignificant is better... because I loved the romance between Silas and Hell (it is the slowest slow burn I've read in a really long time) but I must say until the end I did not really care about it at all... the story and characters pulled me in so much... I will tell you I hated some characters through the book... I was literally like 'kill them already, it's time'... and at the end... I was crying my eyes out for them... So go for this book, please really read it, just don't read it for the love story but for love for the characters.... imperfect, terrible characters that will worm their way into your heart...
Hopeless Necromancer was a fantastic read... not a fast one... not a pretty one... but one that makes you feel and think about the motives behind every action... that makes you stop and ask yourself why someone is acting the way they are... I don't have more words... Read it!
