This is the 3rd novella in the series that is Thelonious Mitchell’s life. He has endured so much in his young life which has made him so good at his job working with at-risk youth. In The Purpose of Life, Theo goes through another traumatic experience, one that derails him for a time but is something that will likely affect him for the rest of his life. My heart was breaking again for Theo as his world tilted sideways, and he was just trying to hold on. Then, when he was starting to feel like he might have a hold on things, something else happens.
Even though a big chunk of each story involves Theo in a crisis, and my heart breaks for him every time, I have loved getting to know him. And what I know and love about Theo is that no matter what happens, he eventually comes out stronger for it which already makes him good at his job but will also make him a good father and husband one day.
If you’re looking for short stories about strength, resilience, and hope, the To Die to Live series would be a good one for you to read. 5 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
