In the last book I was 100% team Ryker; not much has changed this time round but Ronan is slowly winning me over. I loved the throwback to being in the boot of the car. Of the four MMCs, Ryker has definitely fallen fastest as the others have Chloe in their sights for far longer. It was interesting seeing King's infatuation through the flashbacks as his obsession is full on in the present timeline. I loved how Chloe didn't cave for him as at that point, although he had helped Chloe through her darkest times, the connection felt a little one sided. Which leaves Damon who I am really struggling with. He may have given Chloe the best nickname but that is about it; I didn't understand why he wouldn't tell his brother about the ultimatum from the start.
I have a bit of soft spot for cohorts who don't get on immediately and this definitely hits that spot! There is bickering, banter, and denial as they work together whilst on the run. Ryker and Ronan are on board, King doesn't want to share and needs to learn how, and Damon is more focussed on himself and his own tough choices. Chloe is slowly becoming more confident and I really hope see more of this in the next book. The mystery behind the brother's mum's death is also unravelling and as its the catalyst for so much hurt in this series I am looking forward to some of the big reveals after that pretty epic cliffhanger! Ryker is going to on the warpath for sure!

3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
