Oh my gosh, I raged at the end of this! I am one of those girls who tries not to read the blurb of the next book, so imagine my surprise when this one ends with ANOTHER cliffhanger and bombshell instead of giving me Aiden and Elsa’s happy ending! Ok, rage over LOL. Book 2 definitely gives us way more insight into Aiden’s character, was he unhinged and depraved in book 1? Yes. Is he even more so in book 2? YES!! Not to mention his connection to Elsa, which goes back YEARS, I nearly screamed when that bomb dropped and that was separate to the cliffhanger! Ok, deep breath... Elsa’s character develops more in this book, she grows from the “good girl” trope to something more akin to Aiden’s character, which is emphasised by the truth of her childhood trauma. My heart broke for her when she found out what happened to her birth family, even more so when the link to Aiden and his mother is revealed. Then there’s Jonathan who’s just as vengeful and manipulative as he was in previous books - I cannot wait to read about his past demons!!
