Ronnie and Iz met in the sandbox at the park as kids, they became instant friends, best friends who grow up together, as teens they start noticing that the feelings they have for eachother is different than their feelings for other friends. One-day they see their parents holding hands, everything between them changed that day.
This story was SO EMOTIONAL! Luna ripped my heart out, spit on it, threw it down in a dirty gross basement, stomped on it, and finally when I thought all hope was lost, she picked it back up and mended it.
Just because I knew this is a HEA, did not help at all. Emotional damage was done.
The things Ronnie and Iz go through to get their happy ending was so hard to read, I took my time to savor it, and took breaks when I could see from my eyes from crying so much.
I could feel the yearning they had for eachother, the pain Iz put himself through to try and move on. The heartbreak they both felt having to watch eachother survive the trauma, and then bloom into the person's that could love again was so beautifully written.
This is going to be one of those books that stays with me forever.
