Starshipped picks up not long after the events of Starfalling , slipping you right back into the momentum of the series. If you’ve read my reviews of Stardusted and Starfalling , you already know how much I adored both books. Elle Deyesso’s writing is consistently brilliant. Her world building and character work making it effortless to fall straight into the narrative.
Across the series, the stakes have been steadily climbing. In this book, they finally hit their crescendo. It shifts from high stakes to end of the world stakes so fast it leaves your heart racing. The escalation is sharp, intense, and absolutely gripping.
One of the things I was most excited for was finally seeing Amelia and Bast meet and I was so not disappointed. Their dynamic crackles from the moment they’re on the page together, and I absolutely adored the tension and banter between them. Every interaction had me absolutely grinning with delight!
The romance between Raven and Sky continues to deepen in the most breathtaking way. Unfolding with quiet tenderness and electric chemistry that makes every moment between them feel unforgettable. It’s beautifully bittersweet to watch them finally understand the full weight of what they mean to each other, especially with the looming heartbreak of knowing Sky will soon return to his people.
Without giving too much away, I sobbed through the final chapters of this book. Full body, heart shattered, absolutely not okay sobbing. I was so wrecked I even sent a photo to the wonderful Elle herself just to prove how devastated I was!
If you’re craving end of the world stakes alongside a beautifully heartbreaking romance, this is absolutely the book for you.
