ARC REVIEW
Irresistibly Us by Samantha Brinn
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Tyler and Sophie are the absolute sweetest friends-to-lovers romance.
Best friends since childhood, they have always been each other's person. No matter what is happening in their lives, they consistently put each other first, and their connection feels genuinely soulmate-level from the very beginning. Watching a friendship this strong evolve into something romantic is one of my favorite romance experiences, and Samantha Brinn absolutely nailed it here.
Sophie has been carrying feelings for Tyler for years, but keeps them buried because she doesn't want to risk their friendship—or the complicated web of family connections that links everyone together. Meanwhile, Tyler finally has the realization everyone has been waiting for: it's always been Sophie.
One of my favorite things about this book is how low-angst it is. There's no unnecessary drama or miscommunication keeping them apart. Instead, the story focuses on two people who already know and love each other figuring out how to take the next step. The result is an incredibly comforting, feel-good romance. I honestly spent most of the book smiling. Whether it was late-night grilled cheeses, rom-com movie nights, or birthday celebrations, Tyler and Sophie had me melting into a puddle.
As with all of Samantha Brinn's books, the found family element is a standout. Sophie and Tyler come from large, loving families, and the friendships woven throughout the story add so much warmth and personality. The banter is fantastic, the support systems feel genuine, and the sense of community makes the world feel lived in and real. The family tree at the front of the book is definitely appreciated, though—there are a lot of connections to keep track of!
This is another fantastic addition to the Steel City Legacy series and everything I've come to expect from Samantha Brinn: humor, heart, heat, and characters who are impossible not to love.
