⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
Declan and Cooper’s second-chance, best-friends-to-lovers-to-strangers-to-lovers romance absolutely wrecked me—in the best way (just see my 172 highlights). I was not prepared to be up until 1 AM, shedding tears (sometimes happy, sometimes sad) watching them fight their way back to each other after a decade apart. The history between them is heavy, and the emotional payoff is earned. To say this one hurts is an understatement.
Declan had my heart from the start. His unrequited love, the years of quiet yearning, and the devastation of being left behind make it impossible not to feel everything right alongside him. And that’s before you even get into what losing his dreams costs him. He really goes through it.
And Cooper? I wanted to be mad—I really did. But I couldn’t stay there. He’s a perfect example of how little we understand what someone else is carrying. Yes, he gets the rockstar dream, but the cost of that success is high, and his storyline feels painfully real.
When they’re together, it just works. Their connection is rooted in genuine friendship, and you feel it in every interaction. The love is there. The history is there. And the tension? Absolutely electric. It’s tender, messy, and yes—very, very sexy.
If you love second chances that don't come easy and characters who have to decide if love is worth everything, add this to your TBR immediately.
Thank you to Vari Scott and @ lunaliterary.management for the ARC!
