Solid start but I need more world building

Book: THE SUPREME LUNA by Syanna Rose

This kept me engaged and there were elements I liked (I am a sucker for a prophecy and liked the consequences of how Alexa saved her friend) but I'm a little confused on the world building. The potential mate bonds was an interesting take on the usual fated mates concept but I'd have loved a little more explanation on what that meant and how a potential mate could become a permanent one. The book is listed as a reverse harem but unless there are some serious personality transplants in book two (or there is some kind of do-over between Alexa and two of the alphas we've met), I'm really not sure how that's going to work. I'm intrigued to see if more potentials come out of the woodwork in book two as well as seeing Alexa's journey to become the Supreme Luna.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
