This is a trope filled academy set paranormal romance with just enough mystery to keep me guessing. The fated mates/ sheltered fish out of water FMC/ mystery amulet are familiar plots but this still kept me engaged as Raven navigates her way around Starfall Academy.
The why choose romance is slow burn as each of the MMCs begin to gravitate towards Raven. I like when the individual relationships aren't all on the same time scale particularly with fated mates as it allows for some breathing space beyond the bond itself. I'm calling it now; my favourite is going to be Rasmus or Zane. Zane is definitely the stand out as most intriguing character, Alaric is little competition for the one with the biggest chip on his shoulder and Kenji the heist extraordinaire is a total scene stealer.
This at a three star for me as I found a couple of elements to be a little repetitive however it has a great cliff-hanger with a bait and switch reveal I thought I had figured out but was pleasantly surprised with and I'll be looking out for book two when it releases.
