I'll tell you this- Abby Jimenez knows how to write a roller coaster of a book! Xavier and Samantha meet in his vet office when she brings in a kitten she's rescued. They go on an incredible first date, but she leaves Minnesota for good the next day to help her family care for her mother, who has early onset dementia. This book had me laughing hysterically one minute and crying the next. I spent an entire afternoon reading this, because I just had to know how it turned out. Any book that can elicit that kind of emotion out of me definitely earns 5 stars!
