Book: Providence (The Midnight Gang) by Ren Browne

Providence is a sloooooooow burn MM cowboy romance, and I really enjoyed it! A previously notorious gun slinger, Aiden is working for a man a final job as "the muscle" of sorts in order to win his freedom and the horse that he's bonded with during his time on the team. While agreeing to protect his boss during a trip, they land in a saloon to play poker. What Aiden didn't expect on the job was Cyprus. He's aloof and appears to be a horrid poker player, but is it real or are there alternative motives?
When Cyprus walks out, Aiden confronts him and calls him a thief, but he has zero proof that Cyprus has actually done anything wrong until he walks away and realizes his pockets are a little lighter.
I went into the audiobook blind and didn't read the first book, but after witnessing the writing style and relationship between Aiden and Cyprus, I need to go back. The message of the book was powerful in a way I didn't expect. This is a historical romance, so being out and accepted during the good old western days was absolutely NOT accepted, but their story was just so sweet, natural, and built on a solid foundation of friendship, banter, and pushing each other out of their comfort zone.
I really enjoyed this book and want to thank Ren Browne and team for reaching out for the opportunity to listen to this audio.
