Short but fun vampire drama

Book: Immortal Lies (Ashbourne College) by Kelley Armstrong

I loved growing up watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer and then became obsessed with Angel so Immortal Lies absolutely hit the nostalgic part of me.

Set in a small college town, people start going missing and Faith, who survived a brutal vampire attack ends up teaming up with a hunky vampire hunter.

Right from the start I was pretty hooked. It was a short but fun read. Right off the bat I was following the breadcrumbs like the detective I should have been and tried to puzzle out who Faith really was.

I didn’t realize this was going to be a series when I started this book, but the cliffhanger was a good one!

I think Kelley did a good job of setting the scene, and I liked that you can’t rely on what you think you know about vampires.

The downsides for me where it tended to drag a little when sharing to much background to set up the path this story will take. Usually this happens in the first half of a book, but I felt there was a big chunk of just information dropped that I felt slowed down the drama of the conclusion (or cliffhanger)

All in all I thought this was a fun fast read!
