In the classic Lynn Painter this is such a cute book! I zoomed through it devouring each and every sweet moment exchanged between the two leads.
This book is a perfect Fall read for lovers of Gilmore Girls and Gossip Girl. There are a couple very teen cringe moments, but those are far and few.
What I especially love about this story and Damion and Julia's dynamic is that even though they started as 'enemies' they were never cruel to each other. They never did anything unforgivable that instead acted like teenagers who secretly cared for one another even when everything tells them they can't.
I was rather surprised by Damion's Dad ounce of development since I really didn't expect him to have any. His family dynamic really hurt the soul.
Liam's portrayal was good, I just feel like since he was Julia's self-proclaimed protector he would have done more to help her with the bullying. His trying to help her was bringing her to events where her bullies were in attendance to meet others and then leaving her to the wolves to fend for herself. I do understand this paved the way for Damion to save her, it just felt a bit strange.
I felt like the progression of story was perfect, it was a nice pace based on storyline and character development.
All in all a cute love story.
