I don't know whether to call this captive/captor or employee/employer and I don't honestly care because Shain Rose could write a novelization of the phone book and I would read it.
Loosely connected to Rose's other series through the inclusion of the Daimond Syndicate and HEAT you will see familiar faces if you've read her other books, the first book in the Kept in Paradise series is a standout on its own merits and blew me away with twists and turns that had me giggling, squealing, and kicking my feet.
Jameson Knight is a delightfully bad man in all the right ways and Mia Darling is, well, sad to say she is in fact darling and an absolute devil when she needs to be - you know like anyone who works with children needs to be.
Stakes, both high and low, make this a super quick read, the spice is spicin' like all Shain Rose books, and the set up for the next book? Just inject it right into my veins.
