The Bardot family is one I'm sure everyone wants to be a part of. They love so hard, enjoy each other's company and have so much fun together. After reading this book, Benoit is definitely my favorite Bardot brother. I absolutely love a boy taking the long game and being obsessed from first meeting/running face first into something from doing a double take.
Cole has been making cameos for a book and a novella so far, so the tension and banter has already been building before I even opened the cover. I loved getting to finally peel back the curtain to learn more about the prickly redhead. I love the way she is written, the way her autism is honored, while still just being another part of her like her hair and freckles.
Ben is over the top always, but I think my favorite part is the dates he makes for her. They show how well he knows Cole and pays attention to what triggers her overwhelm, while still allowing them to have fun. The spice between the two is electric. I love their dynamic, it is hot from the start.
This book has plenty of fun that includes the whole family, and almost the whole town of Sassafrass. (Also Cole's apartment is the moody, luxurious home of my dreams. I wish I had her style.)
If you like a tight knit family, a fun small town, a man who is the KING of yearning, and a woman who takes charge in the bedroom but takes a little time to figure out the rest of her life, this book should be at the top of your TBR.
Thank you to the author for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
