I want to live in Samantha Brinn’s universe, where the men are sweet to their core, obsessed with their women, and incredible in bed.
This time we get Maddy (daughter of Emma and Jeremy from Anything for You) and Cameron — and honestly? Their love story might rival her parents’. They share a no-names one-night stand where their chemistry is electric. From the moment Cam approaches Maddy, the vibes are vibing hard. They assume they’ll never see each other again (which would have been the TRAVESTY OF A LIFETIME) — only to find out she’s the newest staff member for his football team.
Cameron is a loving and devoted single dad, widowed ten years ago. He’s already done the work to be emotionally ready for love. He isn’t hung up on his late wife, but is able to share her memory openly with his children and with Maddy. Maddy’s psychology background becomes especially important here, because she can talk with Cam about his wife without feeling threatened by that history. It’s all incredibly healthy, creating a strong foundation for the new family they’re building.
Family dynamics aside, Cam is absolutely droolworthy. Maddy describes being with him as “the intersection of scorching hot and achingly sweet,” and honestly? That’s the perfect description. The man is everything: swoony, dirty, and just cinnamon-roll enough to make it dangerous. Maddy is the luckiest.
Speaking of Maddy — she was awesome as a kid, and she’s even more awesome as an adult. She’s at the top of her professional game, working in the male-dominated world of the NFL. She has a close relationship with her parents (every scene with her and Jeremy made me melt), and she’s surrounded by a tight-knit group of “cousins” who cheer her on. She’s such a bright, shining light. It’s easy to see why Cameron falls so hard for her.
I am absolutely obsessed with this shift from the boardroom to the NFL, and I cannot wait for the next Steel City Legacy book. Samantha Brinn, I bow down to you!
