Ok, so I was absolutely swept away by this one? Two characters I couldn’t help but root for, both with their own challenges and foibles.
I definitely found myself giggling through the first section, as they both went back and forth dissing each other in the press. 🤭
And then, when they were “forced”* (*absolutely not forced in any way. Obviously they were both intrigued with one another. 😘) to work together, I was living for their breathless moments of closeness, their “does she swing my way…?” questioning, and their eventual cautious flirting and eventual strong come ons. 🔥
If you’ve been craving some sapphic Heated Rivalry vibes, definitely recommend checking this one out: Two women coming up through the country music scene, obviously needing to keep their queerness on the down low for career reasons, trying to make it work when they’re both publicly closeted. A lot of those same vibes, PLUS there’s even an award show moment…👀
I’ll be honest, I was definitely intimidated by the length of the audio before starting, but actually, I was so absorbed by the story I totally forgot all about it, as I found myself dying to see how it would all work out.
Audiobook notes: DUET Narration. Bailey Carr and Lori Prince together ? In duet ? Yes, PLEASE! So good. Both giving fabulous performances throughout. Working together so well, perfectly encapsulating both of their characters. And their banter! I absolutely loved it.
