One of the things I know I am going to get with an Alyssa Martin book is characters that hit me right in my heart place. Here I get an FMC and three MMCs to fall for.
Ardelisa is sweet, smart, and caught up in the middle of a mafia war she doesn't want to be mixed up in because her dad, well, he sucked.
Max and Oskar are her captors. One is charming and congenial. The other is cold and calculating. They like to share.
Luca is her husband and childhood friend, and he will do anything to find her.
The relationships among the four of them are delicious, sweet, hot, complicated, and so much fun to read.
I love me a mafia story. We get intrigue and danger, people playing outside the lines, and men who are always willing to go to the extremes for their women. This gave me exactly what I was looking for with that sweetness I always look to Alyssa for.
When these men melt? Oh man, it's so swoon worthy. Ardelisa is one lucky woman... you know, outside all the violence and stuff.
