This book introduces us to Selwin and Finn. Selwin's a well-known hockey player who's come out as bi. This doesn't end well for him, and he has to switch teams. Finn is a rookie that joins the NY Rush hockey team at the same time as Selwin. Selwin mentored Finn at a summer training camp, and that's how they became acquainted. They start as friends and it turns into something more. Selwin and Finn's relationship was so sweet. Finn showed up in Selwin's life at just the right moment. It was so tough watching Selwin's coming out story. I was so happy he found people who accepted him and someone to love. The way Finn felt about Selwin was a great demi representation.
I really liked reading this book. The representation of queer sports players and their treatment was well done, in my opinion. This is my second Ava Olsen book, and I enjoyed revisiting those characters here. If you like mm hockey romances, this is a must-read.
