This is a beauty and the beast retelling in modern times but with ancient gods/magic. It was a true romantasy, a fantasy with slow burn romance.
It was interesting to watch the relationship between Freya and Camazotz develop. I struggled with some aspects of the story and the humor, but that is a bit subjective. For me this was a 3.5 ⭐ read. I can completely see this being an amazing read for others since it was so imaginative!
