Tropes: rivals to lovers, hockey romance, childhood friends to enemies to lovers
I had the opportunity to listen to this audiobook early. Listening to the audiobook totally improved the book for me. I got pretty irritated with the MMC and FMC sometimes, but the narrators made it way more enjoyable. This story revolves around Reign and Riley, who were childhood best friends. Following an accident, Reign turns into Riley's enemy. They spend their lives competing with one another. Things take a turn in high school, leading to the start of a toxic relationship.
This is a dual narration audiobook. The characters were really brought to life by the narrators. I totally felt all the passion and energy. CJ Grey nailed Regin's obsessive and toxic side, while Marcie Miller highlighted Riley's sweet and naive nature.
