Even without knowing the other characters in their series this reads like a standalone. Considering the similarities between the main characters and my self this story gripped my heart and actually made me sob. Even some of the prayers and conversations are things that had happened to me verbatim. Elizabeth Marie has a masterful way of showing ideal prayer life while handling internal and emotional struggles.
