There's romance, there's mystery, there's comedy - Unaccounted For has a lot to offer.
Based around Maryn and Gabe, these flirty coworkers find themselves embroiled in a criminal conspiracy after finding some suspect expense reports for one of their firm's clients. After reporting this to her boss Maryn is fired, so Gabe asks Maryn to start a firm with him before quitting in solidarity, but continues investigating while serving out his notice period. The romance starts off as a slow burn with a couple of incidents escalating and heating things up when they start working out of his home office. Even so I appreciated that Maryn remains independently minded especially after learning more about her past. There were a lot of fun moments and great banter, though Gabe could use some boundaries and totally needed that HR training! The other characters from both their families and their pasts were great and I really loved Gabe's neighbour Kip who was so much more than just a neighbour. I found myself wishing a few elements had dug deeper but overall this was a really entertaining read and I'm looking forward to future instalments in the series.
