This was one of those books I finished by clutching it to my chest and sighing.

Tough Love had everything I wanted. It was a fantastic follow-up to You Again, and for me, it was by far the stronger of the two.

The thing that made this book work so well was balance. Both characters were flawed, but never in a way that became exhausting. The emotional beats lasted long enough for me to become completely invested without being dragged out past their welcome. The tension was palpable, the chemistry was a perfect slow smolder, and the emotional moments hit hard enough that I was turning pages as fast as I could.

Dami and Graham were also just perfect for their roles. I'm always a sucker for a sunshine-and-grump pairing, and this book delivered. Dami was the perfect sunshine, Graham was the perfect grump, and watching them slowly give little pieces of themselves to each other was just chef's kiss.

The misunderstandings and emotional complications had me completely invested, and the backstory for both characters added depth without slowing the story down. Everything felt nicely rounded and well-paced.

And the ending? Delicious. There was one brief moment where I thought I might be disappointed, but the book brought everything full circle in such a sweet and satisfying way.

This was a genuinely joyful reading experience for me. It had tension, emotion, chemistry, hurt, healing, and a resolution that made the entire journey feel worth it.

A book that knows exactly how much to give you without ever giving you too much.
