This left me feeling underwhelmed and unsatisfied. While the premise held promise, the execution of the story fell short in several ways. The book attempts to explore the idea of ancient civilizations preceding our own and the impact of their existence on our world. However, the pacing was uneven, leading to a lack of engagement throughout the narrative. The plot felt disjointed, with ideas that could have been intriguing but were never fully realized. The characters were one-dimensional and failed to evoke any real connection or empathy. I found it challenging to invest in their journeys or care about their outcomes. The dialogues often felt forced and unnatural, making it difficult to become immersed in their interactions. While "They Were Here Before Us" had potential, it ultimately left me feeling disappointed due to its weak character development, uneven pacing, and lack of immersive writing.
