Maya, Oliver and Jack are best friends who enjoy surfing together. But on this day, Maya kept feeling a nagging sense at the back of her mind despite the perfect wave set up. With Spring Break approaching, each one had their own ideas on how to spend the time off from school. After getting devastating results from her math test, Maya doesn’t feel like she’s good enough and to make matters worse, rival surf team, Wave Warriors, come into the cafeteria to taunt them all. After school, Jack’s mom tells the kids there’s a surf competition coming up. The big day arrives and the Wave Warriors are there also, taunting them again. If you want to know who won, pick up this short chapter book and find out. This is a perfect chapter book for 3rd to 5th grade students to read. The story is well written and the illustrations are perfectly done throughout this book.
