Review: The Hunter's Heart

Book: The Hunter's Heart

Well Hollie, you were my last book of this year, and damn.. what an incredible story it was! The Hunter's Heart is set 50 years after Queen of Ashes (prequel), and follows Hunter Faye Blackthorn's story. She's forced to leave her home because of a dreadful arranged marriage, so Faye travels to Riverwatch to be the newest Lead Hunter's apprentice. But honestly, she's the one with the skills teaching all the men how to properly hunt ๐Ÿ˜…
I really loved Faye, she's such a force of nature! And she's not afraid to speak her mind. She has a beautiful relationship with her little brother and a strong partnership with her father. There were many heartbreaking moments (Hollie, you owe me more and more tears already), and I loved every one of them. The world-building, the plotline, the pacing, everything worked beautifully together, even the secrets, betrayals and twists. I also really loved Ruid, he's so so sweet and caring. If Faye doesn't want him, I'll take him! ๐Ÿ˜
Although set in the same world and written by the same author, both books are really different in their essence. Queen of Ashes is more of a dark and desolated story, meanwhile The Hunter's Heart has a lot of sadness, gore and evil creatures, but it's not as dark. And I absolutely adored that both books end really similar, in the same moment. I definitely can't wait to read the next one!!๐Ÿ˜„
I just kept saying 'just one more chapter' and now I have a huge book hangover ๐Ÿฅน
