When things feel big, start small
The Forgotten Garden is a wonderful story to fuel little one’s imaginations with some lyrical rhyming mixed in the storyline with a few pictures included throughout. It’s an easy chapter book for kids just getting used to reading bigger books.
G’ Pa Rhymes is the storyteller of Boardwalk Beach. He and his friends, Cray the crab, Fox Hay, Gull Ray, and Turtle Fay go on an adventure into the woods with help from the Friendship Express to find a long forgotten treasure that’s been kept a secret. What happens on the adventure? They meet some interesting critters along the way that helps guide them along the journey.
Wonderfully executed teaching moments woven throughout with a nice diagram of the life cycle of a plant at the end. All together this book blended teamwork and teaching about plants and gardening perfectly without children realizing that they were learning even though they didn’t realize it at first. My two oldest littles (9 & 8) enjoyed this book and giggled throughout it. Definitely a great read.
