OMG, I don't know what I was expecting, but definitely wasn't this. Thank you L.N. for giving me the ARC! I'm rating this story a 4.5⭐ and rounded up here! The Floating Castle is definitely not a light read, and it was a really incredible story! So much tension and intrigue, so many deaths, so much injustice, so many secrets and so, so, so much gore.. 👀
Written in third person with multiple POVs, it was really interesting to read as we follow so many people: royalty, guards, peasants and witches. I really loved how each individual story converged together with the plotline, and the ending was really intriguing. I'm really looking forward to read the next book!
It has a truly dark side.. there are so many morally grey (and even morally black) characters, and really selfish ones. Especially the Crown Prince. But there are some good people too, and they were just trying to survive in this conflicted world and trying to counteract the wrongs of the Crown. All the dark magic, all the Gods, Goddesses and Demons, and the people who worship them, are all so evil.. it’s just a whole corrupted world.
Will the main characters achieve their goals or will they succumb along their journey? And which side will claim victory? The shadows of darkness or the light of hope? Can't wait to find out! 💔
