If you’re searching for your next fantasy obsession, The Deathmade Prince needs to be at the top of your list! From the very first page, I was swept away by the intricate world-building and razor-sharp banter between the characters. This is the kind of epic journey that makes you feel every mile, every hardship, and every heartache along with the protagonists.
Thraga, a heartbroken yet irresistibly sassy runewitch, and Durlain, the snarky necromancer and fireborn prince, deliver the enemies-to-lovers storyline with magnetic chemistry. Their dynamic is equal parts tension-filled and emotionally charged—think irresistible slow-burn romance that has you rooting for them despite their differences.
Thraga’s character arc is beautifully woven through the story; while I found her frustratingly passive at first, her personal trauma is revealed in a way that makes her hesitation not only understandable but deeply relatable. Watching her grow—challenged by Durlain, forced to confront her insecurities—was one of my favorite parts of the book. Beneath her anxieties and self-doubt, Thraga emerges as fierce, witty, and truly unforgettable.
Durlain, meanwhile, is a master of masks—a prince of many faces who guards his true self behind clever personas. Yet Thraga is the one person who slowly unravels his defenses, exposing the vulnerability he tries so hard to hide. Their evolving relationship is layered and captivating.
This book is packed with court intrigue, dangerous missions, heartbreak, betrayal, and just a hint of love shimmering beneath all the drama. The plot twists kept me on my toes, and while I had my suspicions about the ending, it still left me reeling. That cliffhanger? Absolutely brutal—I’m still not over it!
