Do not buy this book if you don't like dominating, powerful MMC's, or primal shifter beasts that can smell their prey.
Because this book is one hell of a spicy read with the best spice scenes- I totally wish there were even more because they are that well written!!
This book is a dual pov witch/ shifter story set in our time in our world. The magical walk around amongst the muggles but keep themselves secret and hidden. The story is about uncovering hidden truths and secrets and it all comes into view after a break-in at a bookshop that sells magical books to magical folk.
The spicy scenes are hot and extremely well described, yet denial and confusion are there too, so it's no regular fated mates story.
The story burned red hot, and I was hooked in the first 20 pages! I was placing my allegiances with the characters right from the start, and it did not disappoint. The twists that the author throws in there are brilliant too, I seriously need sooo many answers, which will I presume be revealed in the next book, which I CAN NOT WAIT FOR!
A break-in at the FMC's bookshop starts us off with questions, and the mysteries just keep coming the deeper you get through the story. The intrigue that arises and develops are intense, and they open the door for the FMC's whole world to change forever.
I devoured this story in one sitting, I seriously couldn't put it down! (Hubby made the kids tea that day!)
I loved the magic rules and the lore and how the author wrote these important snippets in from the start.
The world building was excellent, the characters were also well written, even the side characters had great stories and banter. The descriptions and general world building was so good that I was pretty much watching the movie play out in my head. - I do wish there was more background on the characters though, particularly the sister and the Palace and perhaps even more on the main 2 from a younger age because we learn that the FMC is the muggle of the family and yet she was allowed to study magic. So I would have liked some more on the schooling perhaps or family life. And the same with the MMC.
Give me the next book now!! Seriously, I need it!
