I'm glad I read this third, already knowing exactly what was coming with Sam. Even with that knowledge, it still hit hard. It somehow makes the inevitable feel fresh and devastating at the same time. This gave so much more depth to Celaena’s past, her relationships, and the choices that shaped her, while the final novella is an absolute gut-punch. Knowing the outcome didn’t soften the blow at all... it just made every moment with Sam more bittersweet. Beautifully written, emotional, and well worth the wait.
