Change can be scary but the reward can be amazing.
Curtis the long-necked turtle is surrounded by a group of not so nice creatures that tend to bully, harass and put him down where he currently lives. One day, his bravery to set off and find a better home and way of life pays off more than he could have ever imagined and dreamed of.
I love how vibrant and colorful these illustrations are in this book. They are very attention grabbing and maintain little one’s attentiveness the entire time. There are some very unique names in the story and some that can be tricky to pronounce.
Fascinating facts about the Eastern long-neck turtle are found at the end of the story. Both QR codes found in the book go to a song. They are different songs, I’m not sure if it was a technology issue on my end or overall, but I couldn’t play them and listen to them so I cannot comment on those. A wonderful book to add to a classroom bookshelf or even home bookshelf to remind children that bullying isn’t right and taking a chance and a risk to stand up for yourself and others can be a great reward in the long run and boost their self confidence.
