💥 I Had Things to Do Today...
I absolutely loved this.
After finishing a couple of books that didn't completely click for me, this felt like coming home. Lexie Slater has become one of those authors I trust, and this book reminded me exactly why.
The enemies-to-lovers tension is fantastic, and pairing it with the fated mates trope creates so much delicious push and pull. I loved watching these two fight their connection, and every emotional beat felt earned. The angst delivered, the reversal paid off, and by the end every piece of the story fit together beautifully.
What really stands out about Lexie Slater's writing is how impossible it is to stop reading. The characters kept surprising me, every chapter left me wanting one more, and I kept telling myself I'd put the book down after the next scene. I didn't. There were about a dozen other things I should have been doing, but I couldn't stop reading.
That's about the highest compliment I can give a book.
I already own the next one in the series, but I'm making myself wait because I know the second I open it, my entire day is gone.
