I listened to and read This Witch Is Not Wicked, and I really loved the story. It took me a little while to get into it, but that wasn’t the book’s fault. I just needed some time to get used to the narrators. Once I did, I realized they were perfect for these roles.
What I loved most was how the story showed that villains aren’t always who they seem to be. Our MMC was incredibly sweet and lovable, but he wasn’t quite my type, so I was missing a little of the chemistry I wanted. Still, this book made me cry on multiple occasions.
It beautifully challenged our expectations of its characters. The people we expect to be flawed aren’t always as flawed as they seem, while the characters we want to love because of their position can behave so annoyingly that we want to slap them in the face. Yes, King, I’m looking at you.
I love this series. The characters and their relationships are all so well written, and I can’t wait to dive into the next books.
