Nice Guys Don’t Kiss Like That at Christmas will have you turning pages straight through to the very end. A quick note before diving in: the book does include a content disclaimer at the beginning regarding cancer and cancer survivors.
Adam and Eve share a complicated history from years earlier. When Eve experiences serious health issues, she ghosts Adam on the very day they’re supposed to finally meet, and then disappears completely. Fast forward seven years, and Eve moves from Chicago to a small town to take a job as a nurse in a local office. What follows is equal parts hilarious, swoony, and laugh-out-loud funny.
Fair warning: do not start this book right before bed unless you’re fine with losing sleep, I learned this lesson the hard way and had to stifle my laughs so I didn’t wake up my sleeping husband. This is absolutely a “just one more chapter” kind of read that quickly turns into an all-nighter. The story unfolds like a chaotic chain reaction, in all the best possible ways. Expect to laugh out loud and possibly spit out your drink if you’re not careful. As someone with a medical background, I especially appreciated the quirky, relatable moments between Adam and Eve and I get them. This book quickly became one of my top favorites and is an easy, enthusiastic recommendation. A definite must read.
