When his sister is taken he schemes his way into being purchased by Mr Wainright-Phillips, a rich businessman with a precious daughter Louisa who has led a very sheltered life. In his quest to investigate and find where his sister was taken, and by whom, 773496S6 finds an unlikely ally in Louisa. What started as a mission to find his sister leads towards the possibility of ending slavery for good.
This is Book 1 in The Unchained, and does an amazing job of setting up the characters, their back story and the present day events. Louisa is a kind young lady who grows a lot through her encounters with 773496S6 and with some guidance from her college professor realises just how naive she has been. 773496S6 is so charming and wildly intelligent, but is always taking risks to further his goal of finding his sister. The story was fast paced and kept me engaged the whole way through. The ending was fantastic and leads right to the next book, which I eagerly await!
