I was a little nervous at first because the opening was much more exposition-heavy than I’m used to from the Knot Club books. For a series that usually moves at approximately a million miles an hour, I was sitting there thinking, oh no, is she losing her spark?
Nope.
That little bit of extra setup paid off so much more than I could have anticipated. The payoff was fantastic.
I especially loved the dynamic between the two leads. It was such a fun change from what I expected, and I loved how confidently the book committed to it. It never felt like the dynamic was there just for novelty.
I’m always impressed by how quickly this author can build characters. The book is short and stays very focused, but I still felt invested enough in these two that I desperately wanted more.
And now I am suffering.
I finished this kicking and screaming because I was out of pages. I need more of these two. I need more Knot Club. I need the next book immediately.
I have already recommended this to a handful of people.
I love all of the Knot Club books, but this one gave me something new, and I absolutely ate it up.
