I'm not okay. This book is an absolute masterpiece of emotional destruction, and that cliffhanger is pure savagery. I was on a total emotional rollercoaster from start to finish—I laughed, I cried, and I'm still not over it.
This book has the kind of world-building I live for, where every detail feels intentional and deliberate. The fantasy world is so rich and immersive. We're talking about winged warhorses, death demons, and a tyrannical monarchy that sets the stage for a truly epic story.
Leina is the kind of FMC you can't help but root for. She's a snarky, tough, and fiercely loyal badass who finds her strength along the way. The atrocities of her past could have made her bitter, but they've only highlighted her fierce capacity to love and protect.
And the romance? The forbidden, slow-burn tension between Leina and Ryot is pure perfection. It's got that classic "he falls first," possessive MMC energy that just hits different. The shift to a dual POV at the end was a brilliant move, giving so much more insight into Ryot and the story as a whole.
This book is a must-read for anyone who loves high-stakes fantasy with incredible characters and an ending that will leave you desperate for the next book.
