this is going to be the most unhinged review I post, because I am so insanely unhinged about this book. My good friend got an ARC of it, and was insufferable because she couldn't share anything but kept saying - "oh... my god... you're going to love this."

SHE WAS NOT WRONG.

I have lost my SHIT multiple times reading this book. I cannot ... okay I need to physically calm down but:

ONE - COLE. Don't believe it's your first ever book. Sorry, don't buy it, its just too well crafted.

TWO - Is there slow burn tagged anywhere on this thing? There needs to be. I HATE slow burn but jesus take the wheel, I was chewing on the effing book (metaphorically) as I worked through it because I needed these guys to KISS.

I dunno, there were numbers - pretend I'm sticking to the list, but also as an ex-NASCAR obsessed, once ASE certified girly and an MM expert (cause I read too much), I also really love the accuracy of what we got in a way that continued to be really really REALLY entertaining. Colt really IS chaos embodied, Beau is exactly what we ALL need, and the cat ... well... I'm not gonna spoil how amazing that guy is.

Please, please read this book. Drop all the things you're doing and get it. I've never seen an age gap, power imbalance, sports, slow burn in the gosh darn desert drive me so insane. The craft with which this book has been written cannot be overstated. I know I'm repeating myself here, but it's because it's true.

I am fortunate enough to be on the ARC list for the sequel and jfc, it's even better???

So! Go read this, hurry! Burnout is out soon. You've got enough time to be ready!!!
