The plot was rather predictable all the way through but as it was written well it was satisfying to read, the yearning and steamy moments were delicious and the angst was threaded all the way through and kept my attention right on the edge!

The world was beautifully written, the sharp differences between the worlds jumped out at you, I loved the contradictions between their beliefs and lifestyles. And the way that the fe castle was described was ethereal and beautiful and I want to visit!
The pacing was fast and remained steady throughout. I found no slow bits or lulls and no info dumps of sections I had to skim read.

I loved the idea of the pretty on the outside ugly on the inside and visa versa but I was hoping for a darker shade to the characters, something to push it a little further for a stronger contrast between the good and the mean sides.
The worshiping was written effectively, I enjoyed the idea of her finally being wanted and needed, again I would have liked this to have been pushed more to the devotion side where he feels he needs to prove himself but that a personal preference.

I feel like this was a great story, I just wish the author pushed it that little bit further and created this as a true dark fantasy, it would have flowed perfectly and elevated the whole book as the characters would have sung their own stories.

This is a perfect book to dip your toe into dark fantasy, itโs on the more vanilla side of dark leaving it open to a wide range of readers. The spice is hot, the yearning is steamy and the tension is enough to keep you up till 3am saying โjust one more chapterโ!

I managed to finish it but it was rubbish. I won't keep a physical copy and won't recommend it, butย it's a shame as the plot could have made a good book in another author's hands

It was OK. I wish I didn't start this one as it didn't do it for me as I struggled to read it. It had an interesting premise that fell flat but I had to see what happened in the end.

I don't regret reading it, and I will read the next one, but this one did have a few flaws. [These could be repetitive writing, gaps or plot holes, better character growth or world building, areas needing more detail]
Generally, the book lacked depth and became confusing. The plot resonated with me even though it annoyed me on the whole.

I'm glad I read it. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to the right people, but I wanted more! Sadly, it's easily forgettable with a few issues I just couldn't overlook/get past.

Good book! I loved it, but... I needed more! I really did enjoy it, but it had a few parts that needed more detail or added history/background or lore. But that's because the story or characters were memorable, and the plot was strong with brilliant twists. I would re-read if I needed to catch up for the next book and would recommend.

This is my God level tier. The book must be perfectly memorable. Even after reading 50+ more books, I will remember character names and emotions along with the plot. If there is a special edition, then I need to own it! If there is a conversation on books- I'm talking about this!
