Girl Trap is part of a series. I have not read the ones before this one and was slightly confused on some of the characters. The storyline was very difficult to follow along with at times with the split narrative following both Mike and Madeline in different towns and working on different cases. Cynthia Hamilton did a great job tackling the sex trafficking and mental illness scenes in this book. Besides the disjointed feeling at times, it was a very good read. If you are looking for a gritty, engaging PI mystery, this one is a good one
