So I actually read this book for a change, as I was a bit impatient, and as much as I love supporting the author and the narrator by buying the audiobook, I wanted to crack on with Kane and Jenna.
This book has got me quite excited, because we have quite a few different threads that need to be answered. I'm really excited to see what happens with the despicable couple with their pigs – something bad, I hope! And what will happen with Rhett and his family – hoping that is in the next book!
This book will make you look at people slightly differently, because it's Black Rock Falls, and really, it is psychopath Central, and there is that lack of remorse. It's shocking. I didn’t get the person until it was too late, and when I did get there, seconds before, I was shocked and appalled. It was just a love that was a step too far, and quite delusional. I did love the spin of who it was, as it’s different to the norm – but that’s all I can say without spoiling it!
I love the ending because it's always the happy ending. In terms of the epilogue, it is always happy. I just love seeing the normality of Kane and Jenna, their family, their extended family. It's light within the darkness of this world, and it gives me hope!
I have literally followed this book series since the beginning, and this is Book 29, and it’s still one of my favourite series. However, with Book 30 looming, it does make me twitchy!
I love the way DK Hood writes, and I've read all her books. She always writes in a way that keeps you hooked. She makes you want to read on, even though some chapters are longer, you still fall into the trap of just one more chapter. This is due to the way she entices you, the way she leaves you hanging, the way she encourages you to read on; it's slightly dangerous, as you fail to be able to put the book down.
