Stetson has a tough upbringing and she can't wait to leave her family and town and never look back. But after her mother dies 10 years later and her step-father goes missing she reluctantly returns to take over the family farm. Here she reunites with her best friend from high school Dale and they become fast friends again.

Gus is the man obsessed with Stetson, stalking her for 10 years to give her time to experience life before he claims her as his own. When he shows up wanting a job on her farm she agrees, if only to help turn around the failing farm and stick it to the locals who are giving her a hard time.

This is not your usual stalker romance, there is trauma on both sides driving their dark desires. Check your trigger warnings to be safe! The slow burn is excruciatingly slow but oh so good and the spice is quite spicy but well done. There is an element of mystery and suspense around the goings on in town and the concerted effort to get Stetson to leave the farm.

I really enjoyed the writing, it was atmospheric and dark and I was totally hooked on the story of all the characters. I'm excited to read the next in the series as I'm really interested to know what is happening with Dale.
