Jayce is the roguish Orc who, in an attempt to escape the Lycan's who are collecting on his debt, drags Clove into his troubles. Clove is a fae who hides in plain sight, having grown up in an orphanage with no memory of her past. When Jayce realises she's the splitting image of the princess who went missing around the time of Clove's appearance at the orphanage, he concocts a get rich quick scheme to take her to Wingspire City and pass her off as the missing princess.
Along the way they encounter adventures, sky pirates and remain on the run from the Lycans sent by the crime boss he owes. There is quite a lot of banter between Jayce and Clove, and her little furry companion Goosebug brings a lighthearted element to the story. The ending to the story was what I would have expected. Overall I think it's more an adventure story than a cosy story. I found Jayce to be a bit unlikeable rather than charming, and never really connected to him. Clove was lovely, along with Goosebug.
