What a book! Everyone who loves high fantasy NEEDS to read this series!
I feel like a virgin with my legs in the air begging her first love not to stop because its just. that. good. Keep writing this series, please don't stop, and When's the next one out Sarah?! I NEED it!
Book one drew me in with the 3 competing MMC's and the whole willing Captive side. Book two was just above and beyond book one! The plot, world building, all the side characters, the twists and secrets, and heart break was sincerely * chefs kiss!
I read this in 2 days! Yes, two days! I couldn't put it down at all! I NEEDED to know what happened next!
So, no spoilers here, but what I can tell you is that you will look at the darkweilder in a whole new understanding light! I was actually routing for him and on my knees begging him to trust her.
I love Falcon too, what passion that man has!
I loved the new things we learned about the magic system, the history we were given, and more of the background on pretty much everything. I appreciate magic lore and the structure that creates it, and now we are treated to this as we go through the story to try and kill the king.
No more time jumping in this book which means it's easier to follow, and we meet so many more characters this time, we see there homes/worlds, we meet families and comrades and unfortunately we are met with betrayal, plotting, mind games and tricks/tests. The detail of everything from the weather the the clothing is, not unlike the first book- mesmerising.
You can picture everything right down to the beads of sweat and snowflakes falling on the ground. And just like the first book, we are very low on the spice scale again, we get a bit more in this book, open door again but I WANTED MORE! I wanted to feel the passion each time, I wanted more breath hitching, clothes fitting, back arching goodness! So here's hoping book 3 finally moves us into the spice that we know ophelea deserves. Or anyone else that may or may not now have a love interest....
Seriously, stop reading this and go read the damn book, you will not regret it!
(I got both book 1 and 2 as an arc, this is only the second time in the past year I have needed to go and buy physical copies because they're that good!)
