⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dire Bound Review
I can definitely see why so many people compare Dire Bound to Fourth Wing, but I genuinely loved the unique dire wolf twist. While academy settings are everywhere right now, this one still managed to feel fresh and engaging.
One of my favorite aspects was seeing how the bonds formed with the dire wolves. I especially loved Anassa and I had a strong feeling there was a deeper reason she chose Meryn, and I’m excited to see how that plays out.
Meryn (FMC) – A total badass. She’s fiercely loyal and will do whatever it takes to protect her family, especially her sister. That said, there were definitely moments where I wanted to shake her for refusing to even consider giving the bond a chance.
Stark (MMC) – What can I say… tall, dark, and dangerous? Yes please. The tension between him and Meryn was undeniable, and those subtle moments—like him always watching her—made it even better. And that line:
“You touch her and I will cull you myself."
I absolutely lost it.
As for the side characters—Lee was a hard no for me. Something about him just didn’t sit right, and if he called her “kitten” one more time, I might’ve screamed. On the flip side, I really enjoyed Meryn’s relationships with Izabel and Venna, and Tomison added some great humor to the story.
Overall, I had such a great time with this book and was completely hooked. I’m already looking forward to Fury Bound to see where the story goes next.
