Audio book and plot review
The book deserved better narators! so first of all the male narrator needs to sort out his set up because you could hear his breaths and the over pronunciation of some letters when he spoke. particularly at the start of a chapter or when there was tension. it sounded awful and really unprofessional. whatever microphone he used was either not set up correctly or he just couldn't use it.
The female narrator spoke wonderfully, good character voices with a clear distinction between them. personally I don't think her voice was right for the characters but that's a personal preference/opinion.
the worst part was that the narrators must have recorded separately because they pronounced things differently and when the female spoke for max she used an accent and a twang to his voice that the male narrator just failed to notice/ use which was really annoying! hearing one narrator speak his voice then a complete different interpretation of the same voice would take over... I dnf the audio at 60%-70% as I couldn't cope any longer!
when I read the book it was far better! a much better story and it pulled me in deeper while reading it than while listening to it- which is a massive shame. personally I judge the narrators competency on their ability to pull me into the story- the female did pull me in but the male was so awful I just couldn't go on.
so read this one, don't listen! the book was better!
